11+ LITE is a course that aims to be a pressure-free introduction to the 11+ for students in Year 3 ONLY.
The course is organised in 3 Blocks of Learning lasting 5 weeks each that will teach your child the fundamentals of:
- Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning in Block 1
We are tackling the subject areas that students generally tend to be more unfamiliar with in Block 1 to give these skills a longer time to embed. Unless students are being prepared privately for the 11+ exam, they are unlikely to see VR and NVR questions in school. By focusing on them at the start of the course your child will build familiarity, confidence, and ease of recall that will serve as a strong foundation in Year 4 and beyond.
- English in Block 2.
The focus of Block 2 is to cover areas of the 11+ that students often do not enjoy. From learning creative Comprehension and Reading strategies to Vocabulary & Grammar games that increase engagement, your child will retain, use and develop their English language skills with greater independence.
- Maths in Block 3
Without solid numerical skills, the 11+ becomes a challenge and so the aim of Block 3 is to set up a strong foundation that covers Place Value, 4 operations, Word Problems, Data Handling, Units of Measure, and Shapes. Concepts are introduced, repeated and built upon so students gain a deeper understanding which leads to greater clarity, confidence and self-belief.

I am a U.K. qualified teacher with a proven record of getting students through exams. With a combined experience of over 20 years of teaching in schools and as a private tutor, I have helped students gain places at Grammar Schools in Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Warwickshire, Gloucester, and Shropshire.
I spent the first 7 years of my teaching career at a challenging Secondary school that taught me the importance of building genuine relationships with my students. I went on to work at two outstanding Primary schools where I was fortunate to be able to develop my teaching creatively. My lessons are based on the idea of collaboration over competition and so I aim to create a learning environment where my students feel safe enough to be themselves and make mistakes.
I am a mum of two children who have attended Grammar Schools so I understand the preparation process from many angles.

This plan covers you for a SINGLE block of 5 lessons ONLY.
This plan will need to be repurchased at the end of the relevant tuition period to continue on the Year 3 Course.
This plan is refundable on a pro-rata basis. A cancellation fee of £15 will be deducted for any refunds.
Any lessons attended within the 14-day cooling-off period are payable at the fee of £27 per week and will be non-refundable.
The 14-day cooling-off period commences from your start date within the first block you book.
Once your payment is made, you will be asked to notify me as to which block you are purchasing from the following options:
Block 1: Get Ahead with Reasoning (starts from 18th Feb until 17th Mar 2024)
Block 2: Get Ahead with English (starts from 14th April until 12th May 2024)
Block 3: Get Ahead with Maths (starts from 09th June until 07th July 2024)

You will be taken to a login screen where you will be asked to either:
1) Set up a new account if you have not got one with Headway Tuition. Once you have created your new account and you have completed your purchase, you will be able to login to your account and view any lesson materials that have been uploaded to the course.
OR
2) Login to your existing account to make your purchase. Once you have paid, you can login to your account to view any lesson materials that have been uploaded to the course.

Yes if you have purchased a single Block of Learning only and you would like to stay on the course for a bit longer.
Each block of learning will cover you for a 5 week period of lessons.
If you have purchased the Triple Block plan, this covers you for all 15 lessons of the course.

You can join the course at any point.
For anyone joining the course part-way through a Block, there will be pre-recorded catch up lessons available for you to view with exercises for your child to work through.

In-person lessons take place on Wednesdays at 5.45 – 6.45pm or Sundays at 5.15 – 6.15 in B24 – exact address will be provided upon booking.
Online lessons take place on Sundays at 4.00 – 5.00 pm
